Week Thirty-Nine

If any of you would care to change your vote on the "When Will the Autumn Girl Arrive?" poll, please feel free. For the record, I voted for Wednesday. I thought for sure the full moon would get things rolling.

Silly me.

Maybe this will be one of the last photos of this pregnancy. I think it will certainly be the last profile view. Yikes.

On the agenda for the weekend:
  • Long walks
  • Spicy food
  • Non-alcoholic beer
  • More long walks
  • Disinfecting every square centimeter of this house
  • After hours activities (wink, wink)
  • Another long walk
Enjoying these last few days with our baby as an only child and as a family of three...

Jesus Loves the Little Children

A preview of things to come.

Noah is typically a pretty well-behaved kid. He's thrown a few tantrums here and there, but we have yet to leave the grocery store hiding our faces while the clerks clean up the canned goods display he's just knocked over.
This was not the kid we saw at Isabella's baptism on Saturday.
Initially, he was curious about the sleeping baby in the car seat.

As it became clear that this baby was to be the day's center of attention, (not him) things got a little ugly. There was squirming, squealing, hitting, kicking, throwing of pacifiers, pulling of hair - all during the baptism service in front of Isabella's family and friends. We're so embarrassed.
Thank goodness for digital photography and computer software with the ability to crop out misbehaving subjects.

Baby Blog

Given that the hospital we arrive at has internet/wireless access; the baby's birth will be blogged. Nothing graphic of course, just updates from the hospital. So stay tuned, because at this point it could be anyday...

Noah waits patiently for news...

Week Thirty-Eight

Now that I'm thirty, I am old and wise enough to be a mother of two. Yet still young and foolish enough to want to chase around two under the age of two.

It's going to be a fun decade.

Fun in Black & White

Do you think he realizes that we take 900 pictures of him a day? Maybe he just thinks that all moms & dads have cameras growing out of their heads.

Week Thirty-Seven

FULL TERM, BABY!

This belly button gets a surprising amount of attention at work. How many times have I heard, "I can fix that for you, you know." Surgeons.

Gotta go. Must finish Potter before the baby comes (don't tell me how it ends).

Universal Precautions

Hey Mom, remember when I said a couple of days ago that Noah was about 1/2 inch away from being able to step up on the footstool to wash his hands at the sink? I was wrong.

As intriguing as the running water is, the video camera is still cooler.

You Enjoy YouTube

Having a laptop and wireless network allows for unlimited locations throughout the house to watch Youtube clips. Here are some of Noah's favorites:

Pattie Labelle Singing ABC in Gospel Style

Beeker Sings Memories

PBS TV show, It's a Big, Big World song, "Try to touch the Sky"

The Jetson's classic song, "Eep Opp Ork"

Under Construction

When we bought our place, we were told that the city was planning to build a park on some of the open land in our backyard. Nearly a year later, we have seen no sign of this park. Fortunately for us, Noah is just as delighted to enjoy the prairie grass, rocks and an awesome bale of hay.

Week Thirty-Six

When Noah was born, we lived in the big yellow house.

When the Autumn Girl is born, she will come home to the house with the purple door.

In case anyone out there, like me, is absolutely dying for the heat to end and the leaves to turn, I have great news. The 10-day forecast for River Falls, Wisconsin, includes a couple more days with highs in the 70s, then down to the 60's for the rest of next week. There's even a day with a high of 56! October is almost here.

Play Hard

Noah recognizes the importance of staying hydrated.

I just think this picture is cute. And you can hardly tell how bad his haircut is (you really have to see it from the left profile).

Spare

Noah's rules for bowling:
1. If you can't roll the ball, it's OK to throw overhand
2. If you don't get the pins down on your first or second try, it's OK to disregard the ball altogether
3. No shoes required

No matter what you do, Mom and Dad will applaud and declare you the most talented bowler in the family. (you probably are)

Also, huge CONGRATULATIONS! to Brenda and Omar, expecting Baby Silva April 16th of next year. We think that mid-April is one of the best times of year to have a baby. Brenda, since we won't be able to see your Pregnancy Glow in person, please have your techy hubby set up a blog so we can see periodic belly updates.

See Ya There

Minnesota State Fair 2007. Noah's first.

He ate some food (Frozen Chocolate Covered Banana - yum),

went down the Giant Slide (very bad camera work by me - I hadn't eaten anything yet - next year sausages before slides),

played with butterflies (scary at first, but then super fun),

rode the carousel (we have about a zillion pictures from this three minute ride).

When it was finally time to see some animals, we went to the cow barn. Moo is one of Noah's favorite animal sounds. Too bad he was sound asleep in his stroller when the cows were walking by (never, never before has this kid fallen asleep in a stroller - never).

Here is the rest of the State Fair fun. Kevin and I had the same thought when we looked through these pictures: Man, our kid needs a haircut. He got one last night. Now what he needs is a professional haircut. I did my best.
