Waning Gibbous

How about some updates?

This guy is all about Star Wars.  All Star Wars, all the time.  Everything in life can be related back to the Jedis versus the Empire.  Every Friday Show and Share must have an element of Star Wars woven in.  It kills him that no toys are allowed for Show and Share - he would have easily brought in our three light sabers for three consecutive weeks.

One morning a few weeks ago I woke up to the sound of electricity.  Buzz.  Hum.  Crackle.  Pause.  Then, Buzz.  Crackle - crackle.  Pause.  I walked out into the still-dark living room to find Noah with light sabers, lined up in a perfect row.  Green - Red - Blue.  Green - ON - Buzz.  Hum. - OFF.  Red - ON - Crackle - Crackle - OFF.  Blue - ON - Hum  - OFF.  Repeat.

Do Jedis Dream of Electric Sheep?
This girl is learning to eat fruits and veggies.  First avocadoes, then apple pears, now acorn squash, butternut squash, yams, bananas, peaches... everything.  Sister is learning to feed her, and doesn't want anyone to help.  I patiently wait my turn.

This one is firmly in Princess Mode.  The intensity of her obsession isn't quite as high as the Skywalker's, but it's safe to say that she would rather wear this every day than anything else.  Santa failed her by not bringing a Cinderella dress.  Dad fixed that a couple of weeks ago.

And this dude just wants to play.  All.  The.  Time.  We run together some nights.  Not most nights.  But some.  It isn't enough for him.  We come home after four miles and he sprints from one corner of the house to the other and back again twenty times.  He's bananas.  Or maybe he's just a puppy.

Who doesn't love rattle socks?  Here is a Solid Gold invention idea out there for one of my crafty friends:  rattle socks for adults.  We'd be a much more limber society if we all rattle socked a few times a week.

I got a new phone, immediately installed and fell in love with Instagram.  My Nikon felt jilted for awhile.  We're back together now, but we have an open relationship.

Oh dear, this one makes my heart happy.

A favorite toy, gnawed by the only two teeth.

Peace.
Peace.

My favorite pile of people.

Aguacate!
Poor sled.  This was his only trip out this winter.  A short one at that.

Natalee-led art projects.

These two have got the sister thing figured out.  Totally.  I used to think Maggie liked me best.  Not even.  The enormous toothless grins and gleeful squeals are especially for Greta, every time she enters a room.

Magda and I had a little photo shoot in the bedroom the other day while Greta was playing in the bathtub.  She would happily spend her life in the bathtub if we let her.  Long after the bubbles have popped and the water has turned cold, she's still dunking and splashing.  There are no photos of that here.  Just the clothed sister.

And then there were some more Instagram favorites.

Orange Kitty was gone for a long time again.  Turns out he'd gone to Mexico.  He recently returned via train, speaking no Spanish at all.

Greta, show me surprised.
One of our Valentine's arty projects.

The other one.

Once I figured out just how cozy this stroller bunting was, we've used it nearly every day.
In case anyone needed further proof that adding ears to baby clothes makes it 70% cuter.

Maggie could Johnny Jump all day.  Here she is with someone trying to sneak in with her.

The learning to eat pictures are endless.  This one is one of my favorites, because she's showing off her teeth.

Baby is getting big these days.  Babbling, rolling, transferring toys from one hand to the other.  All those things that a baby her age is supposed to do.  Sitting up on her own reliably enough that it's safe to reach for the phone on the counter when she's looking especially beautiful at bathtime.  She's also growing.  Like crazy.  I send you my apologies, future adolescent daughter, but this is one of my favorite pictures of the year so far.

I think that's a good one to finish out the post.

This is Good For Her

It's Saturday morning. The littles are all awake. I have coffee and Maggie has a bottle. Here's the best part: we have nothing on our agenda today. Nothing. For the first Saturday in a long, long time.

The second best part: I'm pretty sure there's bacon in the fridge.

Bliss.

Here's Howl giving his Valentine some love.
