Maggie is having a terrible time getting to sleep tonight, which is completely unlike her. She is miles beyond exhausted after a long day of play with almost no nap thanks to the grownups wonky Thursday work schedules, and her wound up body is now staging a revolt against the sandman.
In happier times.
Yesterday, lunch.
Two nights ago, before bedtime.
Two days ago, under the blanket.
Wish her sweet dreams.

Bye Bye, School
I texted this video to my sister a few weeks ago, and it has since made the rounds through the entire family. It's popular and adorable. I expect it will have 10,000 hits on YouTube by morning. They don't have any other cute baby talk videos, right?
The set up: driving the one-and-a-half miles home from Noah and Greta's school after dance class one Friday. They have some really terrific playground equipment, and Maggie often has a hard time parting with it.
For the record, Noah did n o t throw anything out the window. Not that he wouldn't. He just doesn't have roll down windows in the back seat.

The Poncho Series
We are nearing the end of the school year, guys, and we c a n n o t wait. Noah especially will appreciate not being yanked from his dreams onto the bus.
The rest of these pictures are for my Aunt Chris, who created these ponchos (along with many others) about twenty-five years ago. Greta likes hers (formerly mine) okay, but for Maggie, this garment (Natalee's - thanks, Aunt Natalee!) has become her uniform. We think she likes it because it's a totally do-it-yourself friendly top for the tot who really, r e a l l y wants to, but is not able to do much herself. She pairs the poncho with a pair of purple galoshes, also self-applied, usually backwards.
The poncho somersault.
The poncho walk down the block.
Check the amazing craftsmanship.
Waiting for the horse to pick them up for school, watching the tumbleweeds roll by.
Thank you, Aunt Chris!
